The Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund Returns With $500K in Grants and Scholarships for Stylists Nationwide
Beyoncé’s Cécred haircare brand and the BeyGOOD Foundation are teaming up once again to support the nation’s salon professionals. The Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund is officially back for a second year with a renewed $500,000 commitment aimed at empowering stylists, barbers, and beauty entrepreneurs—this time on a larger scale and fully nationwide.
$10,000 Grants for Salon and Barbershop Owners
Of the total commitment, $370,000 has been allocated to award $10,000 business grants to 37 salon and barbershop business owners who have experienced financial hardship. The grants are designed to help licensed professionals not only survive but thrive—offering financial assistance, mentorship, business development tools, and resources from the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC).
Selected recipients will gain access to:
• Business coaching and consulting
• Group mentorship sessions
• Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) certification support
The top 40% of non-selected finalists will also receive extended resources, ensuring that even those who don’t win a grant can still benefit.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed barber, hairstylist, or cosmetologist
• Proof of demonstrated financial hardship
• Ownership or lease of a salon, suite, booth, or chair
• In business for at least 1 year
Important Dates:
• Applications Open: May 23, 2025
• Applications Close: June 13, 2025
Scholarships for the Next Generation of Hair Professionals
In addition to business grants, the fund has allocated $130,000 in scholarships to directly support future cosmetologists enrolled at select institutions. Chosen schools received funding based on financial need, student support systems, curriculum inclusivity, and academic performance.
Participating Schools:
• Cosmetology Institute of Las Vegas (Las Vegas, NV)
• Bennett Career Institute (Washington, DC)
• Civella Beauty Academy (Goldsboro, NC)
• Detroit Extravagant Academy (Detroit, MI)
• Universal College of Beauty (Los Angeles, CA)
Students at these schools are encouraged to contact their administrators for more information regarding eligibility and how to apply.
This renewed initiative from Cécred and BeyGOOD is more than just a financial boost—it’s a call to action for beauty professionals to rise, rebuild, and reclaim their power through education, mentorship, and community.
